Welcome to ABCs of Deviants! Where I interview deviants from A to Z! :eager:

Jo is a deaf photographer residing in the United States. She has made a definite impact on the community after being under the name JamminJo for only a year. She works in a handful of groups such as DevNews, dAWishingWell, projecteducate, StaffAppreciation and more.

Now, on with the questions!

First off, could you give us a brief introduction of yourself?

Hello everyone  I am a Deaf person and love photography, I also enjoy collecting many different mediums of artistic creations. Currently, I help to administrate 10 groups on deviantART and truly love helping the deviantART Community to stay positive and productive. :)

How did you discover deviantART?

I was introduced to deviantART through an acquaintance in 2008. I set up an account and everything was going smoothly, I was making friends and learning so much from the deviantART Community. However, the acquaintance that introduced me to dA started to harass me, my watchers and friends. I let my old account sit idle while I thought of what was best to do for my watchers and friends. After a short time away, I decided that I was not going to let someone that cannot control themselves in a adult manner keep me away from a community that I truly love. I took my power back  made another account, blocked the acquaintance and lived happily ever after. :giggle:

:icontimberclipse:
"JamminJo is one of the most amazing deviants I have had the honor of meeting while on deviantART. Not only is Jo a kind person, but her heart is really in the right place for this community, always ready to help someone else, always generous, and always caring. Jo is also someone I consider as one of my best friends. I know that if I ever needed someone to be there for me, Jo would be one of the first to step forward. Her love for this community has really inspired me and will continue to inspire me as long as I know her. We love you Jo!"

:icongillianivyart:
"I first met JamminJo via DevNews working with her to create the new journal layout.  She was ultra friendly and I was overwhelmed by her enthusiasm for my art and journals.  She is very kind and cheerful and makes DA a warmer, more personal place.  I feel like we bonded instantly."

How has deviantART changed your life?

deviantART has changed my life in so many positive ways  I have learned so many wonderful photography tips through tutorials, deviants and groups. I have also had the opportunity to start learning CSS and I am loving it. :woohoo:

Every morning I enjoy signing onto the deviantART Community along with a cup of coffee and my two dogs snuggled next to me  There is always something new and exciting happening. :)

What is your ultimate goal as a member on deviantART?

Share the Love of Art  help as many deviants as I possibly can help  and someday....... I hope to become a Community Volunteer for the deviantART Community.

What do you think about the deviantART community in general?

After being introduced to deviantART, I researched several other photography/art web-sites and in my  deviantART has the best community structure for showcasing artistic creations, tutorials for beginners to professionals, creative contest and challenges from groups, deviants & deviantART. Simply stated; there is no other online community that comes close to deviantART's Core Values FAQ #84: What are the Core Values of the Community Relations Department? The deviantART Community is uniquely special :) and I will continue to "Pay it Forward" and give back to the deviantART Community.

You are hardworking when it comes to DevNews, what makes good news, good?

Knowing your audience is a must

I believe what makes good news must have the following elements: EXPLAIN WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, HOW AND WHY: After the leading paragraph, which should consist of a brief anecdote or fact, explain the basics of who, what, when, where, how and why.

Additionally, proofreading your work is a must! Grammatical, spelling and typing errors are distracting, unprofessional and possibly will damage your credibility.

Can you tell us a bit more about the dAWishingWell, and what your role is in that group?

I am a Co-Founder of dAWishingWell  and  dAWishingWell is a group specifically created to give back to the deviantART Community by granting dA-related wishes such as premium memberships, super-group status, point donations, features, DD requests, and more.

Who inspires you when it comes to photography and being so involved in the community?

My photography and community inspiration comes from so many talented deviants, all of these deviants have influenced my artwork and community involvement  and if you can believe it........ this list would have been much longer, but the recent name changes shorten the list: :movingon: Astralseed TimberClipse Kaz-D Anoya OliviaMichalski DaniBabitz Jamie-MacArthur PEN-at-Work Ikarisou kinipelahh TeaPhotography gillianivyart 3wyl bradleysays Endorell-Taelos CypherVisor DemonMathiel malaugusto JohnClavin ArtByCher IsacGoulart jvsef CJWilde Earth-Hart JZino LostKitten Mirz123 PSHoudini namenotrequired LiliWrites PurpelBlur StamatisGR Aeirmid SanguineEpitaph miontre Arichy MarcosRodriguez Vibratum alicexz Emerald-Depths MamaLantiis Iluvbiscuit2 moonbeam13 Heidi darkSoul4Life BenHeine hiaamir Tigles1Artistry EveryNextDream Y-KaFkAs fourteenthstar Arte-de-Junqueiro.

"Oh goodness, for JamminJo I would quit the world to write you a few sentences! She is absolutely amazing at everything she does, completely reliable, and she never ceases to amaze with the brilliant ideas she has. Somehow she always manages a positive attitude, and even when you are feeling blue, she just types a few words and the world somehow seems right again. She is a part of everything that makes the deviantART community special from art to chat to charities. She gives herself freely to help others and never asks for anything in return simply because she loves this community and the people in it. She is one of the special people in my life I strive to be more like and look up to."

You're stuck on a desert island with Fella, how do you escape with him?

:faint: Escape??  I wouldn't want to escape  I would enjoy the island with Fella for life

The deviant you last spoke to will murder Mrs. White in the Library with the first thing you see on your left. Who is it and what was the murder weapon?

Run, run............. Mrs. White........ gillianivyart is going to murder you with my coffee cup!!!!

To end the interview, would you like to promote something or inspire us with a quote?

"Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see."
~  Mark Twain
