ABCs of Deviants: KovoWolf

Thu Dec 6, 2012, 5:04 PM
Welcome to ABCs of Deviants! Where I interview deviants from A to Z! :eager:

Amber is the Community Volunteer Mentor for Anthro within the communityrelations team. She is not only a pillar for the Anthro community, but for the whole deviantART community too.

Now, on with the questions!

Hi Amber! Tell us a little bit about yourself. :)

I'm an enthusiastic, multitasking, motivational, always try to inspire kind of person! I was born and raised in Southern California, I'm an identical twin, and I've been an artist all my life (or at least since I could remember).

How did you discover deviantART?

A friend of mine back on IRC had mentioned something to me about an art website that I might be interested in. Curious and excited I came on over to check it out. This was back in 1999  (I still remember coming on here when the site looked A LOT different back then heh) When I started to get serious about my art, regardless of how good it was or wasn't, I was welcomed with open arms by the community. It was most impressive, especially compared to other art websites I came across so I decided to join!  I haven't looked back sense! I am happy to say I have a healthy addiction to DeviantART!

:iconlyricanna:
"Amber is sweet and enthusiastic and always willing to help =)"

:iconneurotype:
"SHE'S THE BEST.
That's all.

She loves educating people about Anthro."

Has volunteering influenced your life, or changed you in anyway?

Being a Community Volunteer has been one of the most humbling, fulfilling experiences of my life. DeviantART is a part of my life and being an extension of that as a volunteer is even more influential. I've learned to grow, endure, endeavor and inspire over many obstacles on and off the site. I have had a great privilege in meeting so many outstanding people through DeviantART and off DeviantART. I've forged some amazing friendships and I am ever grateful for being able to be a part of such an outstanding group of individuals.

It has been such a great joy to expand my love and dedication to DeviantART by being a volunteer!

What is your ultimate goal as a member on deviantART?

Inspire, create, motivate, and share. I want to give back to this amazing community for what it has given to me in turn. I want to guide and to motivate deviants while they continue on their ventures of art or otherwise. I want to continue to learn and grow with my own art, to continue to be inspired on a daily basis and return that inspiration back to the community. To instill within my fellow peers just how amazing, helpful, resourceful and supportive we are and can be.

What do you think about the deviantART community in general?

We are a large group of people enjoying a common interest. The community here is exciting, growing, changing, inspiring, and intricate. Like any community it's a mixed bag of millions of people with millions of ideas, thoughts and inspirations. That is what is so beautiful about DeviantART. We can mingle, mix and learn from one another and enjoy art at the same time.

I have to say that even with all the drama llamas grazing around, this community by far is the best community I've had the privilege to be a part of.  Every community has its ups and downs. Its toils and trifles; but this community continues to push past the negative and strive for progress. It only takes correctives to take care of anything that wants to disrupt the community and the amount of support, dedication and hard work from every individual is humbling. From the $taff, the volunteers and deviants who put their heart and soul into this community. To aspire to want to grow and build on an already strong foundation.

We nurture the ambitions of one another. We strive forth with strong aspirations  for each and every artist because as artists ourselves we can relate. Tolerance, acceptance and love feeds this community and it shows on a daily basis.

You are the Community Volunteer for the Anthro gallery. What prompted your love for that gallery?

I have always been a fan of Anthropomorphic art sense I was young. I love all the Disney movies and a lot of their characters like tigger, the happy little toaster, the lion king etc. are Anthro!

There are also a wide variety of artists who draw Anthro art that I have loved, been inspired by and adored throughout the years such as; Goldenwolf, khaosdog, balaa, darknatasha, wolfmoonie, nightrhino, Yellow-eyes, AlectorFencer, thornwolf, CoyoteMange, vantid, Kyndir and countless others!

I love Anthropomorphic art. I think that is largely because it represents human nature and characteristics in animals, objects, elements/elementals, and other various items. Things that we can related to. Regardless of likes or dislikes with the medium/subject, it has been around for thousands of years and I love/respect it so much because it's a testament to the humans capability to create, think and imagine. Especially with things that are around us on a daily basis.

Besides Anthro, what is your favourite gallery on deviantART?

I love and respect all forms of art but if I was to choose one (or two ;3) I would have to say Digital Art and photography! Digital art is my favorite medium of choice for painting; I love the freedom! Photography has always been a passion of mine and I love capturing the world around me. Not only can I appreciate life right then and there but I love being able to capture them and hold onto them forever.

"The human spirit needs places where nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man"

You're stuck on a desert island with Fella, how do you escape with him?

We shall fashion a raft out of the husks of fallen coconuts, drama llamas, and points for buoys!

:iconbradleysays:
"Amber has been a constant inspiration during my time on deviantART. From her strong love for the community to her amazing artwork. She always knows the right things to say and at the right times. Thank you for being an inspiration to not only me, but for the whole deviantART community!"

The deviant you last spoke to will murder Colonel Mustard in the Kitchen with the first thing you see on your left. Who is it and what was the murder weapon?

neurotype will murder Colonel Mustard in the Kitchen with a Thor bobble head!

To end the interview, would you like to promote something or inspire us with a quote?

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."

and

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." - Pablo Picasso
